Based in Toronto, I am a highly-skilled journalist and editor with 12 years of experience creating compelling and informative content in staff positions at daily and weekly newspapers and magazines, and as a freelancer and photographer for more than 40 publications across Canada.

Currently, as the Americas Correspondent for FIPP – the network for global media, my focus is on the changing magazine media ecosystem.

I cover the North, Central and South American magazine industries as a beat. I keep my thumb on the pulse of change in the magazine media industry, sharing insight and best practices for the FIPP news blog and weekly e-newsletter. At FIPP’s global conferences,
I work in a volunteer reporter capacity in a high-volume environment to write features and summaries about presentations with half-hour turnaround time for publication on FIPP’s website and social feeds.

My experience in media spans magazines and editorial, news, photography, social media, video and non-fiction editing. I also have experience in web design, project management, and event planning. Check out my LinkedIn page or my portfolio for more detail.

I have a Master of Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, where I studied multi-platform strategy and the magazine industry. I have a Bachelor of Journalism (Honours) from the University of King’s College in Halifax, which is what set me on this path in the first place.
